Untangle 是專門做 gateway and firewall 軟體的公司,這家公司的軟體我在之前 5.3 版時就已經使用過了,真的是滿好用的,若是要當公司或是小型企業的 Firewall、Gateway、NAT 都措措有餘,而且方便的是您只需要下載它的 ISO 檔燒成光碟,以光碟開機後這它的指示一步一步設定,就可以讓一台老舊的機器馬上變成很好用的 firewall 了,而且目前新的版本還加入了 Commtouch Spam Booster 的功能喔!!
不過要注意的是安裝完成後有許多選項服務是需要註冊付費才能使用,不過免費版對一般使用者來說也夠用了,也已經有許多功能了,這於這個 Untagle 的幾個版本差異大家可以參考下列這個官方網址:

我最愛的 FreeBSD 又出 7.2 新版了!!!
雖然這只還是 BETA1,不過當一知道又有新的 7.2 版的消息時可是讓我躍躍欲試,想嚐試的人可以使用 freebsd-update 套件來更新您的版本,只需要在您的系統上下下面這道指令即可更新
# freebsd-update upgrade -r 7.2-BETA1

最近 Parted Magic 釋出了新的 4.0版,有在使用 Linux 的人我想應該大多數都知道此軟體的好用之處,其實說它是 Linux 版的 Partition Magic 一點也不為過,因為在 Windows 上我想讓大家常常使用的分割軟體就屬 Partition Magic 了!而 Linux 上其實應該算是 gparted,只不過 Parted Magic 把 gparted 以及一些常用的軟體如: firefox, filemanagers, ISO master…等等都整合在一起,並且也包含了 X window ,好讓您當使用 live CD 開機後有個視窗介面方便使用,如果您也是 Linux 使用者建議您燒一片 parted magic 4.0 起來放,好讓您以後能隨意新增、變更及移除 Linux partition…

Major new changes: The initrd was completely trashed and Parted Magic now boots from a initramfs. The initramfs is only about 500KB and all drivers needed to boot the media are built directly into the kernel. The isolinux.cfg/syslinux.cfg files are drastically different, please make a note of this. The “Low RAM” option was changed to boot Xvesa, TWM, and GParted at 800×600x4. It now runs very well on a computer with 64MB of RAM. The pmagic.sqfs is now a squashfs-lzma image and the new overall size is about 70MB. You can now “Save Session” with the CD version (CD-RW required). The PXE version can merge initramfs for module installation. New artwork. Loading debs (without depency checking and resolving) at boot time like tgz packages is now supported.
其實有在使用 firefox 的人或許大多數的人都知道新同文堂,這個繁簡互換的外掛可以讓您隨時簡體版網站轉為繁體字又或是繁體版網站轉換為簡體字,對於那些常需要兩岸跑來跑去的人來說或許方便許多,這個外掛本來已經許久未更新,不過最近似乎又更新了幾個版本,並且改進一些字彙及讓轉換速度加快,需要的人請到下面的官方網址下載它安裝吧!!
這幾天好消息還真的滿多的,特別是與 linux distribution 相關的更多,因為有許多比較主流的 distribution 已經釋出新版或是 beta 版,如: Ubuntu 9.04 Beta, PC-BSD 7.1 RC1, Fedora 11 Beta, CertOS 5.3,而裏面這幾樣我最關注的就是 CentOS 5.3 and Fedora 11 Beta 了!
Fedora 11 是因為有些新特性想試試,而 CentOS 5.3 就比較符合我一般事務性使用的需求了,也由於 CentOS 是基於 RHEL 所開發的,當然 RHEL 該有的套件它也不會少,不過也因為 RHEL 的版本改進較慢加上大部份都是套件更新與 bug 修正居多,所以 CentOS 這個 5.3 版也跟 5.2 版的差異不大,就不用說什麼更新的功能了,畢竟 RHEL 當初設計就是以穩定為主,所以選擇 CentOS 也是希望讓自己架的 Server 穩定而不是去使用如: EXT4 這種新功能…
